Standing Brave For All

They are loved ones, friends, and neighbors
who walk the line every day
for all in their community and beyond
as their duty to service demands.

They do so with unselfish pride and honor,
thinking of those who need their help
whether it be just property
or rescuing one's life from deadly peril,
as the fallen heroes, their comrades, did
on that September day in 2001.

They epitomize, like their brothers in blue,
the best in public service at home,
answering the bell's call to each test
that comes their way.

They are our devoted firefighters
and fellow Americans who
deserve our sincere gratitude and praise
for always . . . standing brave for all.
