Road of Life

Walking down the road of life
I find myself wondering at times
about what could have been
and what still might be.

Then a smile comes to me
when thinking of what has been,
remains so today,
and will be with each step
that remains of my earthly walk.

Just being with my loving wife,
seeing one of my little ones grown,
hugging my precious grandchildren,
remembering all the good times with mom and dad,
talking with a brother or sister,
thinking of a good friend...
are what really counts
when it comes to what my life is about,
as all else would not have meaning
without what has always come first
and none more so than my love for Thee
for allowing me . . . to be.
