Heroes Gone

I will always remember my walk
on the solemn grounds of Arlington
where the heart touching white markers talk
loudly in silence of the greatness done
by all the heroes of who lay beneath
no matter where
as they are there
in spirit from the great beyond
looking down to see who will respond
to what they did bequeath...
their proud brave service to all
willing to answer America's call
against whatever danger might befall
and to protect what begun
in 1776 . . . never to be undone.
